Reverse Aging With Our

PicoSecond Laser Procedure

PicoSecond Laser

The quest for beautiful skin is an ongoing journey that many people can relate to, and one of the solutions they turn to is laser treatments to help achieve their skin goals. A common skin problem that is often talked about is pigmentation, which frequently takes the form of age spots, freckles, acne scars, and melasma.

Picosecond Laser Treatment involves directing short and concentrated light beams at irregular skin. By removing uneven skin layers, patients are left with smooth and flawless skin. Patients can undergo this procedure at our clinic if:

  • They have scars from acne.

  • Large Pores, Black Heads

  • Melasma

  • They have wrinkles or fine lines under or around the forehead, mouth, or eyes.

  • Stimulation of Collagen and Elastin to promote skin Tightening.

  • They have uneven skin pigmentation from scarring or sun damage.

Pico laser or “picosecond laser” is a type of laser technology that works in picoseconds, delivering laser light energy in one trillionth of a second.  Picosecond Laser Treatment is very effective in treating both epidermal and dermal pigmentation and is suitable for treating epidermal pigmentation in darker skin tone patients due to the lower risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. To tackle pigmentation, Pico lasers deliver pulses of energy directly to the skin tissue which will then create a “photoacoustic” impact. This causes the pigments to break up and shatter into tiny particles that can be eliminated easily and naturally by the body’s immune system. Thus, the procedure is safe and relatively painless. It also doesn't cause any adverse side effects.

Tiny open spaces created under the skin are filled in over time with new elastin and collagen growth. After just one or two sessions, visible results can be seen in skin brightness, texture, clarity and pore size.

Say goodbye to pigmentation and feel more confident in your own skin again.

The recommended protocol for optimal results is 3-4 sessions at 4-week intervals. Depending on the severity of pigmentation more treatments may be required.

What Does The PicoSecond Procedure Involve?

The Laser Technician will cleanse. A slight snapping sound will be heard during the treatment as the laser is passed over the treatment area. Most patients do not require topical anesthesia for this treatment. The treatment causes mild discomfort, but the pain is relieved with the cooling air system. After the treatment, a cooling gel is applied followed by Sunscreen.

What Are The Side Effects Of PicoSecond?

Side effects can include temporary redness and swelling at the treatment site. The redness typically resolves in 3 hours but in some cases may last for 24 hours. Typically, unwanted pigmentation may slightly frost (whiten) during treatment and may darken over the next 24 hours before fading away.

How Long Does PicoSecond Treatment Take? When Will I See the Results?

Depending on the targeted area the treatment can take 30-45minutes. Most patients need multiple sessions to fully address their concerns. However, the skin can appear refreshed two weeks after treatment.

What Is The Cost Of PicSecond Laser Treatment?

Please contact us for the cost of treatment.

Can I Get PicoSecond Laser If I Am On Accutane?

No. Accutane must be stopped for 6 months before the PicoSecond Laser.

When Can I Return To Normal Activities After PicoSecond Laser Treatment?

Overall, the PicoSecond Laser will not require much downtime. We recommend avoiding strenuous activities for the first 24hours. Make-up can be applied four hours after treatment. Following a PicoSecond facial rejuvenation treatment, it is recommended to avoid sun exposure as the sun and its rays can be damaging to your face. Using sun protection at all times is recommended to avoid the recurrence of the pigmentation.

How Do I Prepare For PicoSecond Laser Treatment?

No sunbathing, tanning beds, or sunless tanning creams two weeks before and four weeks after your laser treatment. The presence of any tan decreases the effectiveness of the laser and can increase the chance of post-treatment complications.
