IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light Therapy, is one of our seasonal treatments at Medisthetic Wellness & Laser Clinic that treats red and brown skin imperfections, and for good reason! Redness, flushing, and sun damage are today's most common skin concerns. IPL is a fantastic option for those looking to reduce or eliminate these familiar issues from the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and back.

How does IPL work?

Intense Pulse Light Therapy is a non-ablative intense pulse light technology that lightens, brightens, and tones the skin, reducing pigment and redness. The light is pulsed onto the chosen treatment area with minimal discomfort.

What can I expect during my IPL treatment?

When you visit for treatment, your technician thoroughly cleanses the area to prep your skin for the laser. The treatment is then done using a handpiece that is gently placed against your skin, and the light is intermittently pulsed into the area. You can expect to feel a warm, snapping sensation and mild discomfort. Aside from some minor redness post-treatment, your skin will require very little downtime, and you can return to regular activity immediately. It is recommended that you wear an SPF of 30+ daily.

After the recommended series of three to six treatments four weeks apart, you can expect to see a significant improvement in skin quality and texture, including a reduction in rosacea, facial veins, sun spots, age spots, and dull complexion. You can maintain this youthful appearance through follow-up treatments every three to four months.

How do I book a treatment?

Regain your youthful look by Booking a complimentary consultation with one of our MD Laser Technicians today to determine if IPL is suitable for you!
